    Also note, neither of these jackets were altered beyond the boards. No pockets were added. I would agree with Diane's presumption that they must have been private purchase. If they were late war reissues, the pockets would have added.

      Agreed which is what i believe happened. From what i've read that particular NCO school didnt form until 1943, and the recuiter could have charnged units after that time.

      Regarding the pockets, the period photo i posted shows a converted waffenrock without the pockets.
