Unknown Luftwaffe Collarpatch

A friend asked me to post this luftwaffe collarpatch,I cant tell what it is,so I hope to get some opinions here,is it good or is it Bogus.

This is an east German Air Force collar tab with a part of an East German firemans collar device pined above the gull.

A lot of work went into that baby!

Completely unauthorized of course.

I have learned to never say never...

1. DDR tabs were either light blue or green.
2. The helmet on DDR EM Fire Police tabs is way different.
3. The gull does not look like any DDR types I have seen before(I collected DDR uniforms and insignia in the past)
4. The metal emblems have been on there a long time.

I have never seen anything like this before. They could be dyed DDR tabs, but who knows.

Perhaps an obscure wartime organization's insignia or an immediate post war piece?

I dont disagree. I was just exploring all options. Looking at the tab closer, it does seem to be a dyed DDR Air Force tab.

Yes - a very starnege tab indees. Perhsps I was too hasty and this is a very rare Stahlhelm-Luftsturm collar tab?


Actually East German would be my first guess. IT should be posted in the DDR Militaria forum for opinions.

I kind of like it though!
