    Oblnt collar tabs

Just received my first collar tabs 8-)) Anyway, here they are. They look ok to me but when I blacklighted the collar tabs the cardboard on the back glows but the rest doesn't glow at all. Possible ? Opinions ?

    Regards,

    Kris.

    Hi Kris,
The card or buckram used on the rear of collar tabs was treated with a laquer type stiffener. In some cases this will give the illussion of glowing,in most cases it is just reflection.
Does it actually glow electric blue?

Put the tab in the middle of a new white T shirt(or at least one you know glows) and hold the blacklight no closer than a foot away(it is important you dont hold it to close). If the glow from the backing matches the surrounding shirt ,then it could be post war,as the paper treatments that do make modern paper glow werent in existence till the 50,s.

It is also easy to test for reflection but i will give you that test if you still arent happy after trying the above one.

    Regards Keifer

Is it cardboard in the back or buckram? If it's buckram, and is not white, the glow is likely of no consequence. If it is cardboard that has been yellowed but was once white, it may be a problem.
It looks like buckram to me.
