And finally what I think is the saddest piece,

        Those are some great pieces!

The second Luft eagle is from a FJ smock. The first one is not a cut piece; it is an early pre-war eagle.

The first one is an early eagle but cut off a tunic IMO in the same precise manner as the FJ eagle.

I strongly disagree. Here are the 2 I have left.

What type of uniform have they been removed from? In fact, what uniform uses such soft thin delicate wool?

His is frayed, because the wool is so delicate.

Haven't added anything in a while, so here is recent find. Part of the tunic armpit lining, and pocket stitching are still visible.

At this year's Max Show I was finally able to add this piece to my collection. Thank you Gerry! It is a piece I have known about, and been hoping to get, for years. A fitting tribute as it is likely to be the last piece of cut insignia I am going to add to my collection, after almost 30 years of collecting and studying them.

Early FJ set of tabs machine sewn to a greatcoat collar. Gulls pinned through tabs and collar. From a member of the Regiment General Göring. In December of 1935 the Jäger Batallion (I./RGG) was formed and they were sent Döberitz for parachute training in January of 1936. They wore white tabs with gulls and green piping. In October of 1937 they were renamed the Fallschirmschützen Batallion (IV./RGG). They were then authorized to wear white tabs with gulls and golden yellow piping. Just like my example. That lasted for 5 months, as they were then the transformed into I. Fallschirmjäger Regiment 1 in March of 1938, and wore the standard golden-yellow tabs of Luftwaffe flying formations.

This is my favorite WAF thread. I tried to bring it back with some cutoffs I recently picked up(including an amazing salty FJ/flight collar piece), but when I tried uploading the images I got a message that said “your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing”. I’ve also had other issues posting. Can a mod PLEASE PM me so I can get this fixed? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

some insignia from my personal collection.

These exact tabs are shown on page 114 of MEINE EHRE HEIßT TREUE - INSIDE THE ALLGEMEINE SS 1925-1945 by Ulric of England. These tabs were removed from an early black uniform of a SS-Hauptsturmführer within Regiment Germania.
