Looking for info on blue backing LW eagles on tan/tropical Hermann Goering division tunics. I've seen a couple examples of this on alleged originals. Are they fake? If not my guess has been they were slapped on as HG was rushed to Tunisia, and the regulation tan backed eagles became more consistent thereafter.Last edited by Ostheim; 03-26-2017, 11:24 AM.

This is not the place for this discussion. But.... Eagles were not slapped on. The Luftwaffe first issued tan tropical tunics in 1941. These tunics came from the factory with eagles on them. Tan ones. HG troops wore the same tropical tunics as the rest of the Luftwaffe.
Blue tropical tunics had blue-gray wool eagles on them.Willi
