Great stuff....I guess it is just a preference, but I much prefer these cut insignia to the never issued mint type, which leave me stone cold. In my own case, I have always had a fascination with pieces that I know came back as GI souveniers. Things that I get first hand, w/ capture papers or credible stories etc. The cut insignia just has that "look" to me, although some of it was likely cut post war I know...
