As a waffenrock collector, this always brings tears to my eyes. (Cuff patches are really orange, not the red the photo makes them appear.)

Thanks Dave! But, you didn't have to cut up that uniform for little old me!

Here is a cool piece. Though I usally only stick to FJ or yellow piped, thought this was unique. This would have made a great Fliegerbluse!

I think there is lots to learn from studying veteran bring back cut pieces. You can then see how textbook items were made and sewn.

            marine

Cut insignia that I got out of a vet's cigar box load of goodies: Looks Kriegmarine-what is it?

I'm surprised at the number of LW Flak collars around. Army EM eagles are the only insignia I've found more frequently on the cloth.........Here's my most recent thing.

I think the facination is that is that it might have been cut off dead soldier. Also cut off from a pow by a GI. But they look great to me.

A fascinating bunch of great insignia. While up to now I never really focused on cut insignia, what I find here is that these provide excellent examples on how the insignia was sewn on. Willy has already mentioned this. As we can see, there really isn't any particular "rule" when it comes to sewing - zig-zag, straight stitch, hand stitch, wide, narrow, etc....

Thanks for showing all this, guys.
