    Cloth grouping

Bought cheaply ($25 US) and arrived today, the metal police eagle has its prongs missing, and all cloth were once sewn onto caps as small holes are visible on the edges.

However, what are the red stripes ?
I thought some youth organisation ?

    Can anyone help ?

    Cheers

    Mark

        cloth

        Greetings Mark,

I believe the stripes are U.S. Army, WWI, Discharge stripes. They were issued to the guys 1 per uniform. It showed that they were honorably discharged(from what I have read) I have found a lot of these in pockets of tunics that I have purchased. They just never got sewn on.

Does each stripe represent a year of service?

            cloth

            Greetings Paul,

No! They were sewn on individually on the middle of the left sleeve. One per tunic. It was like the ruptured duck of the second war.

Hi Mark, I think they are actually WW2 British / Commonwealth service chevrons worn on the lower cuff.

              Cheers, Ade.

Thanks for the input guys !
Sorry, cant take any close up photos as my camera is broken

I take it value of these would be low, as I am thinking of selling them as I do not collect British cloth.

                  Thanks for the help !
                  Regards

Value would be very low about a couple of quid.

                    Cheers, Ade.

About $25 each on the cloth eagles and maybe another $20 for the other two bits at a guess? You are certainly in pocket.

                        Cheers, Ade.
