    Army Bevo Insignia Feedback.

This just arrived today and I would sincerely appreciate your feedback. (plural)

I am unfamiliar with this type of insignia. The reason I wish to learn more on it is because it is embroidered on a nylon "type" material which does not seem consistent with the material used for the Wehrmacht uniform during this time period. (IMHO)

    Thanks for your opinions!

      Hello,
from these pics, it looks like a nice Panzer woven breast eagle (it's black from my screen). I see nothing wrong with the material used here. Fred will tell you more...by the way what's on the swas ? thiny holes ?

        Thanks for your feedback guys.

The holes are actually small cuts in the material and one going into the embroidery. It does not affect me liking the item.

However, my main concern is the material. Althought the colours are off in my pictures, the backing material is dark green and like a nylon or rayon type material. It is shiny at certain angles and almost like a outside jacket material feel to it. Can someone give me insight into this type of material? Is it late war?

Thanks again. Authenticity is important to me!

if it's dark green so it's not Panzer but general issue for Feldblusen, produced between 1937 and 1940.
IMO there's nothing wrong with the material. Looks like the usual material found on woven breast eagles, T-shaped insignias, trapazoids etc....yes it is a bit silky or rayon, as i said before, for me nothing wrong.

Looks like an original rayon backed eagle to me.

              Eagle

              Greetings,

You have a beautiful uncut second pattern(if the eagle is white and not light grey) issue BeVo breast eagle. As JPhilip says, it was used on the standard feldbluse. I have also seen those weave marks in the swastika. They are pretty normal. Sometimes they just show up a little more than others. Very nice example!!

Looks like fred beat me to the description But i will agree with him, there is nothing to worry about with this fine piece of insignia. I have always like the dark green backgrounds on these birds, wonderful items to have. Gotta be careful, these birds get addicting Matt

Perfect information Gentlemen... Like music to my ears!!!

I appreciate the insight as I was a little worried, but will sleep well tonight with my eagle close at hand. I have to watch the collecting addiction thing, as my tastes are only exceeded by my lack of budget to buy them!

                  A HUGE thanks to all!!!

The backing is very common old rayon.

Its the most typical material you will find bevo insignia on.

Im not sure why you think its strange.
