    Panzerpioniere wrapper

Panzerpioniere wrapper with the plated weave or fleck piping that superceded the twist type piping. Rank of Spiess.

I am always looking for items pertaining to panzerpioniere, documents, wrappers, insignia, photos, etc. anything.

I would also like to thank everyone who has helped me in the past to attain these items.

Hello Steve a very very nicewrapper
          and also a " SPIESS"

          Is this a early wrapper
          because fo the fleck-pipping
or did they used it during the whole war????

The plated weave or fleck piping, such as applied to this wrapper came out in 43. The black/white or black/silver twist was earlier, as early as 1940, but was used through to the end of the war. This plated weave never replaced the twisted piping but was worn as an alternative.

                Steve:
The collar tabs on this jacket are virtually exact to the ones on my Oberleutnant wrap. As you know, the collar on mine does not have piping to it. Additionally, the boards on my wrap exhibit the twist versus teh fleck pipinig.

Very nice wrapper. I'd love to have one of those in my collection, but I'd settle for a strap and collar tab.
