The unit stamping is 5th Kompanie, Panzer-Regiment 2. Too bad about the cockades on the boards, that hurts. Panzer Waffenrocks are very desirable. Tough to put a value on a hat needing that much work, certainly with a good restoration it would be a great cap.

That is not unusual, actually in some cases they put a little bit of this and that on their souvenirs. But this is often quite often sloppy done so it is easy to detect. Vets did not care about a "collectors value", they just wanted a memory to bring back home.

Looks like I have acquired the twin brother to the 1st visor posted on this thread. Double gepruft visor to the 2nd PZ RGT.

2nd RGT/ 16th PZ DIV. utterly decimated at Stalingrad.
