Curios splinter camo Cape

Hello,
last week i bought this curios cape and i have no idears what it could be !!!.
Is it possible that this cape is from a sniper or rather from a prisoner ? It is hand needled and definitely from WW2.
Any idears ?

its a field made item(from zeltbahn) one from many models here i think rain protection coat it is.
look original.

Looks like a normal field mod from a practical guy with an extra zelt to spare.
