Hi,
These boards just arrived from Germany. When I purchased them I did not realize they had litzen sewn on the bottom. Before I remove it, I thought I would check and make sure no one else has seen these before as I am certainly no expert. I have never seen litzen on Forestry Service boards of this rank before. I don't know anything about German Forestry, but in generally that "Litze" was used for marking person which was "a.D." - i.e. "retired"

Yes indeed-- quite scarce! These are for someone retired with permission to wear their old uniform.

Thanks for the info! I was thinking of taking it off because I had never seen it before and figured it was some type of post war add on.
