I used to collect unissued uniform articles with paper tags. While paper tags were highly individualized to each factory, I can't recall seeing one where it looked like the same stamp that marked the uniform was used on the tag also. I have a Peek & Cloppenberg paper tag right now that looks nothing like the tag shown on the thread. That in itself, means little. Big factory pumping out thousands of uniforms.
The button used on the bandage pouch is unusual, isn't it? Yet the same button appears on the trousers. The buttonhole on the bandage pocket is cut horizontally instead of vertically??

Although markings look good (but mean little nowdays), I'm personally not 100% sure. Pictures don't help at all.
John you should ask for better pics with natural light and a clear pic of the eagle.

Same here.. and close-ups of the buckles, the between the legs part inside the trousers..
Is the tunic and trousers made of exactly the same cloth ?

Hi John, actually there are cases of tags markings and jacket markings are in fact almost the same in regards to the font of the sizing numbers. Let's not forget that the tags of the above set are most propably coppied from original example.

Uncle John Hodgin.., here's some era shiny trop.thread, it's silk.... and I think still available nowadays ..., but it did exist those days, that's a fact.

Never questioned that cousin Jos, in fact I mentioned it. I once had a shoulder strap with some synthetic stitching. But the shiny thread used on this tropical set is unusual. So my question remains, can anyone show us a WW II German tunic, trousers, cap or hat that was sewn up with shiny thread?

I once had a super nice fancy Trop.Navy shirt with triangular eagle, brandnew, a woodwork item so to speak..
It was sewn with silk thread,ultra fine stitching, but even IF they also used it on tunics or trousers I still have some issues with the set in question..
I'd like to see some more pics , if possible ofcourse.

Notice the font of the size markings of the paper tag match the size markins on the tunic. I'm still looking of the paper tag example of the company Reitz which basically matches the markings on the tunic with the addition of the Auftrag number. I hope I can found it so I can show it as well.
At the same time I agree that are many companies whose paper tag markings (size and font even ink color) look different from what is stamped inside the tunic.

So briefly, back to my question on the thread used to sew the set up. It would be great if we could perform a burn test on it! and the result would not be positive IMHO.

To all those who whine that we don't show enough details of rare uniforms here, (hooked helmet covers come to mind) this shiney thread will be "fixed" in the next batch of these uniforms, just so you may own a fake and never know it.

The paper tags and the BEHA stamp are near perfect, far better than the repro tags of a few years ago, and so very troubling.

Still would like to see a close up of that eagle. Still wonder why the vendor will not show it.

If you look on posts #73 and #74 we have the same tunic and a clear picture of it's eagle.

Great work, Tony . Same sizes; same strange buttons; same unusual lining material. If it's not the same tunic, it came from the same batch.
