Ok, I purchased these trousers a number of years ago at the MAX show. The seller was selling off an old German uniform collection. I needed a pr of trousers for one of my set-ups. No one was sure what they were but all felt they were probably original German.
Anyway, after examining them when I got home, I began to have doubts as to their their originality. So I purchased a nice pr of M36 straight leg trousers from Ben that he got out of a Dutch Museum to replace them. I just never got around to doing so.
After reading this thread, I thought I'd post them here in a remote chance they are late war 44's.
One of the things that seems not correct is the 180 size stamp. Here are the stamps that are on the inside pocket lining, "077/82 and 180/90 over 0/1001/0068 It looks like a 180 size stamp and how can that be.
The trousers have all flapless pockets and there are no back pockets. There are four wide belt loops and and adjustable belt with a buckle in back and metal fly buttons.
The trousers are still on the manikin so I could only take photos of the stamps and the watch pocket.

        Stamp

The postion or arrangement/numbers of the stamps does not always follow suit as a pattern or mean a measurement value. Better pictures are needed of everything to figure out what they are. The early Bundeswehr clothing is very colse to the M44 color and WWII construction. They alse wore WWII manufactured clothing as did the East Germans. Some of the early pants etc. were sold as WWII and still are. What do the cuffs look like?

          Ray,

I am no trouser expert but I like the looks of your 44 trousers. Wool looks right, tropical lining materials were often used in late manufacture to include Pz wrappers. Markings look fine to me as well.

By the way, those are the only stampings in the trousers. There are no others, or traces where there had been others removed. So I would say at least they must be the original stampings. Ray

As requested. These were purchased from another forum member in Germany several years ago. They go with an M44 NCO tunic marked 'M44'.
I have put together a set of fieldgear, mostly dated 1945, to go along with it.

              Regards,

When I first purchased the trousers, the seller thought they might be Assault gunners trousers. and at the time I was just getting into German uniform collecting so that's what I figured they might be. But as time went by, I saw other assault gunners trousers and they did'nt look the same so I didn't know what they were. It wasn't until I saw this thread about the late war M44's made without the pocket flaps and back pockets that I realized that mine must be late war M44 trousers. It makes me happy to know that as it clears up all my questions I had about them.

Anyway, here's a shot of one of the flap-less pockets. That's about all the details of the trousers I can get unless I take the trousers off and that would be a job because of all the equipment on the manikin. Ray
