    tropical greatcoat ?

    a brown tropical greatcoat. Is it any good ?
    apparently it has been dyed ?

    I don't think that there is any way to know based on those photos and the information provided. It is rough as a cobb for sure! I think that you will as a minimum need to know all of the markings inside to include the maker name and the depot letter and year.

    If the seller is claiming that this was a feldgrau coat dyed brown or olive for N.Africa....I have never heard that they did that.

      I thought as much. It is A grade junque.
      There a lot of dreamer collectors out there who have no idea what they are buying.

        Most likely it will be cut up for repro boards to be sold as originals.

          Well, I bought that blanket coat and it will be fully restored to its original condition.
