Here is a bit of a riddle. I have a named Oberts tunic with three set of loops on the left breast pocket. So what is the problem, they ask? His records show an EK 1, IAB, but no wound badge for the third set of loops. Second problem, the loops are to close to the EK1 to accommodate a badge the size of a wound badge. The wound badge touches the EK1 by about 2mm. The question is what badge could possibly have been worn, that is also not reflected in his personnel records. ? I think a rider badge is to big as well. I am pretty sure the loops are original to the period and not collector applied. Any ideas? Jacques

The tunic is in a frame, so excuse the picture. You should get an idea. The awards are all placed very low on the pocket. The same applies for his DKIG on the right pocket.
