These turn up once an awhile. IMO they are a specialized garment or lining for something else under other clothing. Are they marked? The fabric looks like the early green two piece suits. They may be an early varient of the quilted trousers? I do not think they were designed to be worn as an outer garment but might have been?

IMHO it is not a common piece of winter pants. It more looks like a pair of warm under trousers

This link is no longer valid, as it was the link for the exact pair I purchased. There is no way these are for undertrousers, they are extremely heavy, and reversible. The standard issue WH/LW issue winter undergarment suit was quilted, however, it was lightweight, not reversible, and made of a rayon shell. These are for winter wear for sure as an outer shell.
[quote=jhodgson;2352262]Do flight suits have the little flap on the bottom by the foot? That is an odd feature. Tuck into a boot to hold them down the leg?[/quote
Luft flight suits were never made "reversible". If your in a plane, there is no need to have a "white" side for camoflauge, although they did make heavy two piece sheepskin flight suits mainly made in Bulgaria, which again, did not reverse.
I believe these pants are winter reversible padded ones. They were used during battle of Charkow by WSS in combination with fur lined anorak for instance.Quite rare bird..

I agree. WSS trousers to go with WSS Anorak. These are rarely explained in any book and very difficult to find one´s in period photograph.
Never seen this kind but not an expert. The lower flap for the foot suggests me some kind of moto or driver's use. I believe Vincent was writing a book about winter gardments, he might know. Can you show details of bottons and straps?
Could you please show more photo's with the white side out ?....i agree with Petr,i have seen photo's of these pants worn by SS troops in Kharkov, usually worn with the SS Grey fur lined anorak......very unusual and quiet rare.
