    Tabs

They look odd to me, maybe an orignal litzen but the way they are applied looks unusal. I think this is a close relative to the top one below, also on an off color.

I see no issue with the Litzen/collar tabs apart from being reapplied.

            Tunic

That happens, no need to bang your head. It can be restored to a nice tunic with TLC. The jacket alone in that shape is a prize.

The backings look Dark green on my monitor.

                  Thanks.
In my opinion this is an unquestionable original tunic with insignia re-applied post war.
I can not tell you if collar tabs are original by these pictures but as jhodgson
I have not a good feeling with these.
Edelweiss as eagle look good to me, I can not tell you about boards.

                    Edelweiss

Can you post a front on picture of the edelweiss please. It looks machine woven or by hand? The flower does not have the detail to the interior. I have not see one like this before?

It is not machine woven in silver!
                      More photos will follow.
                      Thanks.

I want see it too, a second look to it doesn't convince me at all.
I'd like to see shoulderboards too when you want

                            !

Ja, ja, ja. More photos please. Myself see no red flags... Ok, I mean litzen look damn ugly, but I like the edlweiss pretty much. Hand embroidered.

Apart from the EdelweiƟ possibly not being original, I doubt there ever was one present in the better years of this tunic. The position seems a bit low on the sleeve and I can see no image of wool being less worn.

I saw that too, I have one tunic where the edelweiss is low and the guy had a big belly with very broad shoulders. The Edelweiss was in the right position relative to the pockets when he wore the tunic due to his body shape (he was a truck driver-transport).

I think this tunic has been "upgraded" to Gebirgs. I still would like to see a front on shot of the edelweiss, it would be strange to see one like this on a Schutze tunic. I an not even sure if lower EMs were allowed to wear embroidered insignia.
