    Eagle good ?

    Hi Guys,

An eagle on a M36 field jacket. Looks good to me but I would like to hear from the experts. Thanks for looking.

                Hi Guys,

As promised more pictures as today I received my very first M36 jacket !! What a rush and love at first site . This one has been in the collection of a good friend of mine for more than 40 years. A very nice jacket with just a bit wear and tear. I also came with trousers. When I have a mannequin build together I will post more pictures.

Very nice tunic just one thing though if you are going to put an EK1 on it it should be a 1939 one since the ribbon in the button hole is a 1939 EK2. To have received an 1914 EK1 the man would have had a 1914 EK2. Just a small thing but noticeable

                    Hi,

Thanks for the comment. I know, this cross came with the tunic and I left it on there for the time beeing. It will be replaced for an '39 example.

If he'd won the first class in WW1 and a 2nd class in WW2 would it not be feasible or did the cross progression continue regardless of the war?

Hi John, if you were awarded an EK I or an E II in WW1, then if you were awarded the same awards again in WW2, you got the bar or Spange to the Cross. This took the form of a an eagle surmounting the date "1939". This was worn on the 1914 black and white ribbon of the 2nd class 1914 EKII or in the 1st class form pinned on the breast above the 1914 EKI.

This article explains it better than me:

Hi Jac, nice tunic. I suspect the breast eagle is re - applied but that is not a problem. Please keep us updated as you add new items

                        Cheers, Ade.
