Interesting generals grouping.

Well since I opened my mouth about another generals eagle already today, I'll go ahead with my opinion on this one. It isn't the quality I would expect to see on a generals tunic. Thing looks pretty well worn out too and poorly applied compared to the rest of the insignia. While I have seen some officer eagles that were 'cruder' than others and were good ones, not on generals uniforms. Coastal artillery/Kriegsmarine maybe.

Interesting that Bob Hritz is inquiring about an "H. Hofman" and shows a Heer General's uniform... any connections?

No cponnection. I was asking about a tunic in my collection that is not named, other than the name on the removeable collar liner. My tunic is tailored in Bern, Switzerland.

Tunic
I guess my take on it falls back to advice I was given long ago by experienced collectors. When collecting TR if there one question, one thing that does not make sense or looks odd- walk away. You may loose out sometimes but I found that simple rule as saved me a lot of pain and money.
When you start slinging around 12 K you better feel damn good about what you are buying. I would pass if I heard myself saying one "if" "but" "maybe" or "Could be" and with that grouping I have a lot of quesitons already mentioned above.
The other Generals grouping he has looks more interesting. That General Staff piped tunic looks fantastic. I wish he had more pictures of it.

It appears that the collar was too small for the collar tabs. I too would not want to sling 12K to a dealer like this. I just wouldn't feel comfortable. I imagine he's trying to catch one of those tin foil collectors-the "if it's shiny and expensive, it must be good" collectors.
I personally am saving my money for something really special when it comes along. I would expect better care and quality when it comes to one of the highest officers of the Third Reich.
