    1st pattern straps worn ca 1943 ?

Is it possible that individuals wore the first pattern NCO shoulderboards well after the date the 2nd pattern was introduced?

So could the first pattern straps be worn lets say ca 1943/44

maybe on a walking out dress for a stylish minded soldier?

    thanks

Yes, absolutely. As a matter of fact, there was a nice late-war picture recently posted on the SS forum of an NCO wearing pre-war straps (pointed ends). The picture was from 44-45, if I'm not mistaken, as was in the field.

    Hope this helps,

    Drew

      Hello
      I second that .
It was often worn by soldier who wanted to show the veteran status with pre or early war insignias.

Yes, it happened a lot, even until 1945.

Yes, NCOs and some Jr. EMs (who dare to part with regulations) did wear pre-1938 straps till the end of the war. If you ask me how I know, Brian Davis told me so!
