    Mtn. Troop Oblt. Tunic

    My Godfather , Friedrich "Fritz" Schepang ,born 5.5.1920 , Served in the 6th Comp. Mtn . Troop "Gebirgsjaeger" Regt.99, 1st Div.,Training in Fuessen ,Germany . In WW II, through France, Poland , Russia and up the Elbrus Mtn. He got K.I.A. 28.10.1943 , Askanija Nowa, Ukraine, Russia, while with the AA94 of the 4th Div. In his honor , I got this Mtn.Troop Oblt. tunic and visor cap many years ago ;---and like to share it with you . The decorations on the tunic are the ones he earned , missing is a Kuban armshield .Posted by Bernd Friedrich .

                              Left chest side with decorations : EK 1ST is hmkd. 4 in a recessed box on the bottle shaped pin ; Infantry Assault Badge silvered ,solid back ,vaulted and hmkd. JFS in a box ; Silver Wound Badge , solid back and hmkd. 107 in a box with rounded corners .
