The style pattern and raised texture is right for circa 1930s, I would bet that is what it is, part of a slip. Interesting to see modifacations like that. I have seen pockets made out of Russian uniform material etc. always neat when clothing has unusual features. Good stuff.

I have allways heard them called removeable collars but I don't know if that is their true name or not.
