Picked up a nice repro buckle and belt that I have since aged for that authentic look on my display. What I'd like to know is when rigging the belt, did the soldiers find their size and then cut off the remainder of the tongue so that it ended inside the buckle, or did they fold the buckle back around on itself? Or did they do something else entirely?
Can someone please post a photo of the back of a real belt buckle with an original full length belt still rigged to it? I really don;t want to mess it up and have to buy another set
