There can never be a really definitive answer with these private purchase pants. I would give these the benefit of the doubt. If you need 100 percent certainty you must stick to factory made textbook trousers, or examples with provenance or from vets.

i know the factory issue standard ones are the best no doubts about that except they are expensive and often in poor condition. It took me some time to find these and they still cost me 180euros which is still a tidy amount on a gamble. At least i am now more at ease with them and they will stay in my collection as I imagine selling them would lead to questions as to their originality. they can go with a private purchase pioneers tunic uniform i am trying to complete. Now ineed to find a decent officers visor cap with pioneers piping . thanks for the responses appreciated.
