Edelweiss buttons example!
Here's an NSKK Gruppe "Hochland" Bavaria (and later Austria) mutze.
I received this NSKK side cap from Austria (light blue farbe) last week
but unfortunately it was missing the NSKK eagle buttons...(and cap edelweiss)...
So thanks to this thread I restored it like this!
(with pebbled edelweiss "traditions buttons")
The position of the cap edelweiss was more to the front of the cap
(in comparison with Whermacht) because room was left for rank insignia,
which would also appear on such NSKK caps (behind the edelweiss).
Sometimes the edelweiss badge even substituted the triangular NSKK eagle patch
