I would leave it as it is because I do not know how to repair the moth holes

                      Tunic Restoration

The holes can be repaired but it takes someone with a lot of skill and patience, please aviod the stupid seemingly popular way- to super glue wool into the holes, this looks terrible and IMO is worse than the original mothing.

There is a way to weave fabric back into the wool to fill the holes, this is called "Darning" and for a good reason, it takes someone who is very experienced to do it well.

I had this done with a WWI German tunic that was peppered like your tunic. The darning repaired all of the damage and it is difficult to see the repairs unless you look very closely.

When done correctly, it looks like minor mothing to nap or picks. With the extent of damage it may cost more to repair your tunic than it is worth but it is possible.

Show it to someone who is very experienced with sewing, after that you can think about restoring insignia etc. if you like.

                        hello

i called a old firma in vienna which has experience with this kind of uniform
tomorrow i will visit and ask for repairing, i m little feared about the cost

maybe this will be the reason to decided hold or sale

                          Darning

The term in German is "Stopfen", they should be good at it. In the States it would probably cost about 100-200 US for what I can see. I imagine someone that works at home for extra money would be cheaper than a tailor house but the quality may be less.

                          Good luck
