    Opinions on collar tabs

    Hello,

I bought myself a M36 field blouse for a realy nice price. Normaly I don't buy tunics without insignia but this one was so nice... I want to put some insignia on it and found these one. Would like your opinion.

The collar tabs look flatwire to me, and are perfect to put on my M36 tunic (the tunic has a officer collar attached and is retailord).

    What is your opinion?

And if they are OK, how should I attach them?

NEW COLLAR TABS ADDED BELOW, PLEASE GIVE YOUR OPINION

    Best regards,
    Sander

These are indeed M44 collar tabs, or?

I would not use these on an early M36 officer tunic.

I agree. If it is an early m36 tunic, I would put on different tabs. And there are plenty around. Although these are very nice late war tabs, I do not think they would match well with what you are trying to do. Maybe show a picture of the tunic...

I do not collect Heer tabs, but unless I am wrong, I thought that M44 tabs were worth more than the M36 styles.

Maybe you could do a trade with someone.

Thanks for the opinions guys. Well the tunic is a M36 from 1940. It was a NCO tunic I think because a piece of NCO 'collar wire' was used in the inside to replace a strap. So the collar must have been removed and a new one was replaced for the officers tabs. So actually this could have been late war job...

I'm so sorry guys but my dad's camera felt and is broke, and Giel (brother) is on holiday on took the other one, so no pictures of the tunic...

What should I do? Buy and attach or buy and sell?

The price is only 55euro for these tabs...quite cheap I guess.

I vote for buy and sell! that is a good price. You could probably find another pair for the same amount or less.

So called M-44 Pattern Officers collar tabs . . .

                    Hello,

Richter & Rohrlapper patented this design (DRGM 1477996) in early 1939.

Although commonly called the "M-44 Officers pattern" they were manufactured and used much earlier than that.

I imagine they would be acceptable for use on any Tunic manufactured from 1939 onwards.

Honestly, I have never seen what I thought was an original officer tunic with this style tabs. Well, maybe one, but the jury is still out on that one too.

I know the tabs are original, but they just seem to be very seldom used.

Hello Diane, thanks for your information. I will put them on the tunic, it will be a nice combat look.

                            Collar tabs

                            Hi Sander,

I had a dog eared Combat Police tunic with this style of collar tab that came from Russia.

An earlier poster commented that this was not a common style of collar tab on wartime tunics and I agree.

I've also seen examples for the Feuerwehr, Army General Staff and other branches.

I think this pattern went into large scale manufacture in 1939 / 40 by Richter & Rohrlapper but never issued in large numbers until later in the war when it became necessary to conserve labor and resources.

                            Chao,

                            Diane

Hello Diane, I think what your trying to say is that I shouldn't use these tabs because they are not textbook on a early tunic.

I will just keep on looking then for tabs
