What is this for?

Hi Petr, this parka has been modified and was not made like that at the factory, as you can see. I could only guess at it's use.

Couldnt the loop be used for hanging the jacket up, like coats today have loops in the neck to put on a hook.

I think the loop and the button was some official modificatin made straight in the factory-I found another of these features on another of my plain color parka.Next evidence is the picture page 12 in the book:Wehrmacht camouflage uniforms and post-war derivatives by Daniel Peterson.Still no one knows?

Could it be for the attachment of some sort of fur hood or rain cape/cover? I never really thought about it before.
