My son bought this for $20 some time ago. I was a little skeptical of it, because the hospital shirts (not gowns) I'd seen in photos had wider-spaced stripes. Could this be a real Luftwaffe hospital gown?

Fabric Pattern
The pattern, colors, and fabric are correct to the general period and later. The stripes do look a bit closer together than the typical suits in the photo but not too much. That said I have never seen a gown in WWII photos, I am sure they existed but yours is very odd in that it is a pullover, not something very practical for wounded and even harder to put on then the two piece suit. It has a woman's name sewn in it too. Given that it is "period" it could be 1930's or 1950's with an added LW stamp.
Most hospitals were mixed branch but this could have been from a LW medical facility. Hard to say for sure. Maybe someone else has seen one of these before? 20 bucks it was worth the chance. Need a period photo or another example. If it is real someone out on the website most likely has another one like it.Comment
