Pioneer Officer Field Tunic Opinions Needed

Here is another tunic I would like some opinions on. This one is for a Pioneer officer. It has the same maker Wilhelm Kreuzer from Wuerzburg as the Infantry Waffenrock I posted earlier. This one also has the maker label sewn into the inside of the inside pocket with an officers name and a 1941 date. Unfortunately the rank pip and regimental number has been removed

I just noticed that I did not get a good shot of the shoulder boards, but there is nothing on them, if it is needed I can take another picture.

Nice original jacket. Tabs certainly look originally sewn,tough call on the eagle (always is with hand sewn officer versions)

Thanks again for the replies. I assume you have questions about the eagle. Is this good - bad or put on later?

2 of the 4 jackets I am posting had the eagles removed and being these came from the same source I had questions about the eagles myself.

If you could clarify I would be gratefull.

Nice tunic

Very nice, I agree with Glenn on the Eagle. Most of these were removed and have ben sewn on after the war. It is very very hard to tell with out being able to look at the area of stitching and the eagle in person. Look for any evidence of differences in fabric shade from fading or tiny picks at the fabric from previous stiching or removal. There usually are clues but if the eagle is larger than the previous one the evidence is often hidden behind it. Regardless of the eagle question, looks like a very nice Pioneer tunic.

Stiching looks a bit crude so I would say post war added,original eagle though.

I would say it is post war sewn as well. As Glenn said it is a bit crude. But Still a great tunic.
