    My new tunic.

I went to show yesterday in Pomona, about a 3 hour drive from where I live. I met Ben Weed, old flags, Who I would like to thank for his very nice gift to me. Met Bruce Herman from Grenadier, for the 1st in person time. And talked talked again to Ed Anderson. I did not have much luck on what I was looking for, But I did get this Tunic from Stewarts military, That I am very happy with. I want to post 6 pictures here, and show you someting I have not seen before. Any comments welcome. Pete

Markings inside right cuff, that I have never seen before. I did a google search on M.Gladbach and it says industrial town with lots of textiles, so I think this was a stamping on the back of a roll of wool this tunic was cut from. Any and all opinions welcomed.

Nice LW signal school tunic!!! Don't let PaulR see that, he's been looking for a signal tunic for a while. Nice big size also.

I think that may be a period price tag for local cleaner (may be not). I have a couple of tunics that have original cleaners tags still pinned to the tunic. However cleaners tags are normally hand written.

Any evidence of the collar piping being removed?

What a smoking tunic!! Congrats on your new find. Steve is quite right... I would love to find a signals four pocket(either a tuchrock or waffenrock) in the future.

His tuchrock is not the only one without collar piping. My medical tuchrock is void collar piping. There was no evidence of it ever being present. I have seen a couple of other tuchrocks like this(mint but missing collar piping).

                      I wonder why?

                      Paul

IMO, you are correct as to the origin and meaning of the stamp.
