Hi Munster,
Reason I asked how long is that I don't know if its the picture the way its brining out the color or not, and I'm no blood expert but it does look like blood.
What concerns me is the back of the cuff the blood looks like there is still a redish tinge to it. I would think that after 65 + / - years the color would have darkened more to a darker brown and or even faded out more.
Maybe someone else can contribute somemore on old blood stains.
The cuff maybe fine, I am not that up on "Kreta" cuffs but from what I have seen it looks good. I wonder if the cuff is good that someone could have possibly put blood on it to give it more a look of authenticity, could be animal blood. Interesting, definitely a discussion piece here. I will be interested to see what some of the other opinions are.
What are you opinions on your cuff ?

Very bright sun here today Bill, My opinion is I really wish it wasnt there due to not liking blood
2nd part is Iam not up on my CSI episodes and have rarely seen blood on items before except on 1 tunic.
3rd part is considering source and what Iam used to in my area, this kind of fake tactic is never employed.Iam Uncle Sam
That’s who Iam

Just another thought being the devils advocate that I am, if it were blood from that period, I can't see that most vets would have taken it with so many cleaner items available. I would think most vets would not want a trophy with a mans blood on it, might be to disturbing for the folks back home, just a thought not a fact.

From my experience and exposure to the substance, I would say that based upon the photos that it strongly resembles blood IMHO. Who knows how long it might have been there... 60+ years or 6 months.
Perhaps you could contact a police dept and ask to talk with someone from the forensics dept? They could at least tell you whether it is blood or not. I would have no clues on how to date it though.
I could see a soldier taking a bloody item if he was the one who killed the Fj.
Just a thought.
