    Luftwaffe Grouping - suspicious?

    This was on Manion's and didn't sell for 3k. It seems that 3k would be a very good price... but it didn't sell.

    What do you guys think?

    I think it's a put-together group. The Riker case seems to be filled with a mish-mash of odd show finds, the ribbon bar on the tunic is a mix of wide and narrow ribbons in the wrong order (and possibly duplicates), and are those enlisted stripes just visible on the upper left sleeve? (I saw no mention of a campaign shield). All at first glance - there are probably more problems I missed.

    Yes, much too good to be true in my humble opinion.

      It is prob put together, I agree... but are the individual components real??

      Could the tunic be a post war BW one that was badged up as WW2?

        The uniform grouping was originally sold on the Relic Hunter's site a few months ago. Gerald did mention that the Kurland title(a repro) was added later, post war, by the son. The current seller is lying about the title being a period applied piece.

        There are a few pieces missing from the grouping, as Gerald sold it.

          Hard to say from the photos provided. You could contact the seller and ask for many, many, many more detailed pictures. However, based on the sellers ad, his credibility is questionable, which would be enough for me to walk away from this 'group.'

            I dont blame you at all!!! I think that Gerald sold the grouping, which had more items, for 2700 dollars.

                  The seller Battle 41, has had this on ebay, Gunbroker, and the Manions list it your self site. He also has a DRK visor and tunic, a Fire man visor and tunic, and some visors and low end helmets. He had the DRK visor for sale seperately last month. I believe it is the same one. Some of his stuff looks ok, some very questionable. I would suggest caution.
