Waffenfarbe colour on shoulder straps?

Can anyone please tell me what branch in the Heer this waffenfarbe represents. I was thinking motorcycle troops, but it seems very brown rather than copper brown. Jacques

Heer Construction troop waffenfarbe is Light brown, versus the copper waffenfarbe of the Recon/Motorcycle troops.

Paul, Did a bit of searching on the net, and I think you are right. It looks like like brown/ Hell braun for construction. I dont think it is recon.Jacques

What exactly were the functions of the construction/Bautruppen and where did they fit in on the order of battle or the structure of the German Army. jacques

I have now got this mental picture in my mind of German troops marching of to the eastern front armed with showels, spades and trowels and then throwing the crap out of the russians with bricks and other building paraphanalia. All this just to cement their position. Jacques
