In Hans von Luck's book called Panzer Commander there is a pic of Rommel reviewing some assult gun troops. They appear to be wearing some strange camo gear. Vests and helmet camo any idea what they are wearing? Here is a scan of the pic from his book

IMO they're wearing field made garments made of hessian cloth and painted with green spots. On their helmets, you can see long pieces of camo material cut from the Zeltbahn M31.

Camo is made from jute, very rough fabric a bit similar to that used to make verpflegung bags, the camo garments on the picture are probably made from bags the farmers normally use to put potatoes in.
