    breast eagle question

I have a question about breast eagles. is the diffrence between and officers and nco's breast eagle that the officers is made of silver metal thread and the nco's is sewn with cotton thread. and has nothing to do as to weather it is hand sewn or machine stiched?

In general, officer's breast eagle's are hand embroidered while the EM/NCO types are machine woven or embroidered. However, officers sometimes wore the enlisted type on field tunics, and on dress tunics the officer type was frequently used by NCOs. The method of attachment has nothing to do with the type, although the officer type would almost always be hand sewn on.

This is an example of an M-36 ist LT administration tunic with an enlisted of NCO breast eagle. I dont have a picture of the inside, but the stitching doe not go across the liner.
