What branch of service would you consider this to be? I have heard of 3 possible ones. The color is fairly accurate in these photos,looks copper brown.

I would say BAU. Copper brown is more a reddish color. So this would be a bau construction board.

Being that signal got out of the color brown very early I would say that these are Bau or Recon.

I actually thought is was close to this shield which I think is considered Recon-copper brown.

Since you posted the shield I would say Bau. The color difference is not really to big,at least in signal blitzes.I think that it is the lighter brown color.

I feel that the color is for bau as well. In the case Recon, I would expect to see more of a red influence, as seen in the Honor Guard shield.

Regardless, a nice and rare strap!

i have the same shoulders board in a WH tunic m42 for NCO in mint conditions! I always thought for recon!
