    John,

This in an interesting topic. Is there a reference that contains information on these codes?

    Regards

There are many references that discuss the Rbnr use, but as has been mentioned, nothing that I know of that maps the numbers to the makers.

The use of the Rb numbers in place of a maker's name seem to have started around mid to late 1942. Not all makers made the switch at the same time so it is still possible to find makers named examples with 1943 depot or LBA dates.

The other information on these provided in this thread is about as much or more than anything that I have seen published on the subject.

Yes, interesting indeed. I know there have been some past threads and efforts to track this down. I agree that 0250 is most likely Berlin as we have seen leather goods that bear this code and the city name. I'm unaware how much further it has gone though.

The country codes that John mentions are even more interesting to me. We've seen most items with "0", some with "1". I wonder what country that is. I've seen a few items with a "9", and one item with a "2" I think.

Any more info on this John? I believe Willi also did some work in this area in the past.

          Hi Guys,

I couldn't help but jump in on this. Here are the markings inside a fliegerbluse I've had for a good number of years. I think it's original, but am hinked up about the insignia (I should probably post it in a separate thread sometime). Anyhow, just curious on the coding.

Robbie, I'm sending you a PM.

            Robbie,

Can't tell you how great it is to talk to you again after all of these years!

I hope you don't mind me piggybacking on your thread, but here are a few more photos of the "beastie" I mentioned. As I stated, I don't like the insignia. If you look at the previous photo of the coding numbers, you'll notice that a breast badge was apparently previously attached. Given the trade badge rating on the left sleeve, I'm not sure what this could be.

In any case go at boys and don't hold any punches!

                          Ranger Joe's

Dan, Did your Fl. Blouse come from Ranger Joe's? Boy, remember the good old days when you went in there? I bought a Luft Para Helmet from him for $175.00 on installment payments! I also bought two (2) Z flare guns for $35.00 apiece. Those were the days. I remember him having a Flying Piped FliegerBlouse but I don't remember it looking like the one you have posted.

                            Robie,

This one did in fact come from Ranger Joes back in '78 while I was still going through the "Q" course. You're right about the good old days; they always seemed to have a lot of interesting stuff.
