    Shoulderboard button numbers

    What do mean numbers on shoulderboard's buttons? I have seen an M36 tunic with "12" number on those buttons. What does it mean? I assume it was a number of some kind of unit.

        Hi again Karol, I should have added that if the numbers are in Roman numerials, for example, "II" they would be for the Battalion.
