    Help w/ headgear display

Anyone displaying their headgear? If so how? I can't find anything to put them on but those styrofoam heads which I thought let off "toxic" fumes. They would be in a tinted glass area in a room with the blinds 95% closed.

Shawn try finding plaster faceless heads with a cotton sleeve fitted over them or try useing heads made of glass.....

What about something like this ? Just to get a rough idea :

You could ask your carpenter (or do it yourself)(maybe sandel wood (against moths), do not know about prices for that) to shape a small log into "head"-shape and then place the cap etc. on it, shouldn´t be too expensive.

I display my headgear (helmets mainly as they are stiff on top) on hat stands. One can find these in antique stores, bit I/my father make our own. Basically a disk stand in whch we mount a lathed spindle on top of which is a half ball circular piece. All done in wood. Obviously does not wotk on peaked caps, but these look nice I think displayed just like Arne has shown his picklehaube.

          Hi Shawn -

This may be obvious, but they do make hat stands out of cedar, which helps to keep the mothies away. I have two, one that I made from a stairway ballustrade I got at a local home improvement store and another I bought off eBay about a year ago. Both work fine.
