Recon Signals Blitz

Is there such a thing as a yellow recon signals blitz on black (panzer) backing?

If so, anyone have a good pic of one?

In 30+ years have never seen one on black - though many sources report their existance. If you have one - it is either really rare or fake I'd guess. From period photos, it is tough to tell if it a blitz is on dark green or black when on a panzer uniform...least wise, it is for me. I have seen a photo of a uniform in a collection that has a rosa/pink blitz on black, but cannot comment on its originality. The color for recon troops was certainly used on signal blitz's, however.

Unfortunately I do not have one, but it would be interesting to see if someone out there has one in a collection. I don't recall seeing a yellow blitz on any color backing so far. Do you have a pic of one on fieldgrey backing?

I followed this thread a while ago but wasn't an association member, since I recently upgraded membership and can post pictures I thought everyone would like to see this blitz. It is definately on black. I've compared the wool color to all the types of green wool I have and I'm sure it is black. The stitching of the yellow looks to be a thicker thread possibly handsewn. It is not in the best condition, some moth damage and the yellow is dirty.

Can you post a pic of the backside? (How yellow is the thread on the back?)

Here is the back, unfortunately the patch has been sewn on a uniform and the backing is firmly attached to it. I can't peel it off without damaging the insignia. The blitz is yellow.

Its a female signals helferin blitz. The cav/ recon were more golden yellow. Still a scarce bird, but not as scarce as the gloden yellow on black!

They did make the signals blitz on black for Aukl. forces. I recently picked up an entire archive of an Aukl units advance into Russia and there are about 165 photos in color. I have a color photo of a scout car crewman in a black panzer wrap and full aukl piped insignia (shoulder boards, collar tabs and the signals blitz is also black with the Aukl piping...)
