Will if you paid $500CD for the tunic, in todays market you did well. A stripped tunic is worth that.

A case of win by default? I will settle for that. Thanks Nick, Thank you all.

Brian Lawrence, now there is a character I would suggest you avoid. Same league as Frank Grant if any other Canadian collectors know him.

Although both do get some good stuff, most of thier wares are not.

The tabs on the officers jacket look original to me (a clear close-up would be nice). All put together from a stripped jacket though.

NTZ, I don't find this to be 100% correct. Even though these are not good tabs. I have seen many tabs where the bullion runs the way his does (more horizontal then vertical). Here's a pic of one of my tunics. Hard to see but the bullion runs more horizontal.

Yours are real but I have a problem with your analogy. Yours appear to be dirty dress tabs and not subdued. These do run at a lot lesser angle. What type of tunic are those on? It must be a prewar type. The type on the tunic in question are subdued. Go look at as many tunics as you want I don’t think you will find them running straight. I also don’t like the looks of the tabs themselves.

Tabs on the artillery jacket look to be late war. Tabs on the jacket that started this thread are a variant.

Just did a quick search and found these.

Go to Heer cloth insignia-collar tabs and look at item # HO-93356 Infantry officers tabs.

Glenn I just looked at those. The discription says bright wire type as is the ones Kreager posted. I am pretty sure you wont find them on subdued.

They are the matte-subdued silver/aluminum type (which his description says) same type that are on the jacket that started this thread.

Not to argue over something dumb but here is the discription. "The collar features hand embroidered collar tabs in bright silver/aluminum wire threads with the regulation, "V" patterned".

You're right they are just like my Artillary ones. My Art's are on an early M36. Have a look.

Kreager, yours are the bright wire type too, not subdued.

You are looking in the wrong section. Go to Heer cloth insignia under Heer collar tabs and look for item # HO 93356 Infantry officers collar tabs (the top of the page)

Here is a late war set.

Ok, you are right. I was looking at the Inf tunic with a similar number. Those do run at a lot lesser angle than most. So that leaves us at the insignia on the subject tunic. Are the tabs and bird correct and just post war reapplied or bad and reapplied?

All the insignia look re-applied. Tabs look original (would be nice to see a better closeup) I have seen this type in the past though.

Eagle might be OK,no serious red flags.

                              Just my opinion.

The bullion on the bird looks good. The only thing I did not like was the peg legs. I have seen some pretty good Pakastani's that had those legs. It could be good though, I was on the fence.

This thread is another example of Nick’s classic over reaction. I seen the insignia was all reapplied and then I looked at the overkill of award loops (I am surprised this guy didn’t add buttons under the collar for an RK) and my red flag was flying at full mast. I was looking at things that I normally would not even pay attention too.
