Army Tropenhelm Maker Question

I was just wondering was JHS the only maker of 2nd pattern tropenhelms or just the most prolific/well known?

I can't answer if this was the only maker as I haven't kept a record of markings in these second models but will from now on. However, I have one - typically in unissued condition - and it has absolutely no maker markings at all and only an ink stamped cm size inside the sweat band. I find that unusual.

There were a number of different makers of the first model Tropenhelme as you probably know.

I'd like to see photos of these second models actually being worn during the war and know where and when they were taken.

I have a nice 2nd Pattern Tropenhelm that I recently picked up. Its made by JHS, 1942 dated and like you say in the usual unissued condition. I`ll try and post some pics of it tonight. I have`nt seen that many photos of them being worn. Apparently they were`nt that popular with the troops.
