    Bullion Breast Eagles

I came across this officer's breast eagle the other day and noticed the eagle is missing the claws off the reef.

Is this possibly a war time period variation?.
I found a enlistmans Panzer breast eagle in Bob Edwards book on Pz uniforms, (first one)on pg 255 with out claws and a fellow collector told me he has a naval officer's breast eagle without the claws on the reef.
Has anyone else come across this before ?

I looked at my tunics that have this type of eagle (17 - both army and navy) and all have the claws on the wreath. However, every single one is also a bit different. I would be surprised if some without the claws weren't produced, since they were hand made. Call it 'artistic license'.

I've had a number without feet. Got a nice one here that does have feet, and nifty little flexible "knees" (do eagles have knees?) so it can bend easily opening the pocket flap.
