Besides some German WWII medals and orders do i own a Original twin cylinder BMW R-71 motorcycle , it is build in 1939 and was used by the Wehrmacht untill about 1944 , it remained in Rumania untill 1996 where i recovered it and brought it back to Belgium.
It is now completely restored and back in original running condition !!!!!

Are there other vehicle collectors out there ?

    Greetings,

The oddest thing I have is an original WWII , nazi marked, horse camo net that I found in some cavalry saddle bags at a German Flea market in the 70's. Mint condition with head piece and full body netting.

          Saddle prices

          Hello Ken,
I've got one as well, although without the saddle bags. I don't know what they go for, but I know they're not very easy to sell. I was given mine by a dealer who started with an asking price of $300.00 and worked down to $50.00 with no takers, and finally just gave it to me. This was about 10-12 years ago, though.
          Erich

            Erich,

I considered myself as a devoted German collectible hunter. It means, I check many resources(us/europe) from time to time...
I think, Nazi saddle is rare and desire item
as can be seen in the movie Schinder's List.
. As you won't find this item as common as EKs, KVk,CCC... however, All Nazi German items are very desire as they don't grow on tree.
I think, you are lucky enough to get this item for free. It happens to be in
a really special time frame. congratulation!

            Ken

I have a piece of shrapnel from the attack on Peral Harbor. I recieved it in a small box of "stuff" from a co-worker who's late father in law was a Pearl Harbor survivor.

                      odd pieces

A lot of my collection is odd stuff--I've got an SA Glockenspiel (Lyra), the cavalry saddle I mentioned, an SA boxed 'SA marschiert' harmonica by Hohner, a ceramic SA man salt shaker, an SA marked whistle, SA and BdM chocolate molds, a Heer Standard Bearer ice cream mold, a set of door handles from the Tribune building at the Nürnberg rally grounds, some examples of the 5 and 10 pound counterfeit notes produced during the war, etc. etc.

A German Navy button, given to me by a Swedish friend who had brought it up from a dive on "Tirpitz" a few decades ago ( & a Yugo helmet he brought out of a mine field in Northern Bosnia in 1999). An empty German 7.92 case that I found in the rocks below a damaged German pill box on the cliffs at Trouville when I was a kid about 1965. An empty German 9 mm case & some pieces of shrapnel bearing British markings found on the ground next to damaged gun emplacement on Jersey in 1970. A Luftwaffe spoon & a Hitler Youth belt buckle given to me by a teacher when I was 15. A totally flat Austro Hungarian brass belt buckle found in the Bihac region in Bosnia & WW1 German style helmet with 2 little holes for a badge at the front, found in the same area. Sorry, sounds more like a relic collection, but these things are in the main small evocative items that fit nicely into a wall mounted printing block tray, unless you're my girlfriend in which case they're ugly & a pain to dust............
A few sets of KD tunics & shorts to a 'tween wars Norfolk / WW2 RASC Chindit - with a wartime cigarette & half a hard tack biscuit in the pocket of one of the pairs of shorts, & his khaki SD tunic rebadged from Norfolks to RASC - with his wartime train ticket to Grove Park SE London (RASC Depot there) in the pocket. Nothing amazing there, I've got odder & scarcer bits 7 pieces, but I'd have to sit & ponder.......
