Army Generals' Shoulder Boards (And ONLY Shoulder Boards)

I can't believe all our old threads have vanished with Lost Image Hosting!

    Here we go again! Davvvvveeee!!!!!!

Here is a General der Infanterie board, dating 30 September 1931+ for Pour le Merite and German Cross in Silver holder Rudolf Schniewindt (1875-1954), who was retired with the Uniform of Infantry Regiment 12. Field Marshal von Rundstedt usually wore the same type insignia: officers' parade collar patches, regimental piped boards and tunic. There were only a few dozen senior Generals retired with this "uniform of..." privilege, which was considered a high honor.

Damn! That's a nice board. Send me the pictures via e-mail with the info and I'll include them in the Gallery of the strap & board article.

Hell, I'll even credit you - or whoever owns that little gem....

          Dear Rick

Thanks for posting this general's shoulder board again. Always a pleasure to see such a beautiful shoulder board.

          Best regards
