Over the past year or so I have noticed alot of the T&S House master pieces for sale on dealer sites. And just recently Kai posted about a hundred such pieces. Does anyone know the story behind these? A little over a year ago I had only seen a few on dealer sites and one in Mike Everett's collection. Was a warehouse found with these in them?

        Any help appreciated.

        Dear Gary,

The complete set of T&S 'Haus Musters' was captured by the Russians at the end of the war. The Russians used most/many of the SS insignia to restore the uniforms also captured by the Russians. As many of you are aware, the Russians frequently used capatured TR stock for theatrical purposes during the cold war.

Shortly after the wall came down, the remaining set, was sold to Kai Winkler and Harald Giessler. Although the SS insignia can no longer be recovered, the remainder did include a complete set of GO insignia to include GFM boards and tabs for both Luftwaffe, Heer, Marine.

I was able to finally purchase a complete set of Waffenrock Officer/Enlisted insignia and will shortly purchase a complete set of Heer bayonet portepees.

The absolute best part of the T&S set were the three volumes cataloging over 1000 pieces of insignia which they produced!

        MIKE

Unfortunetly, there are no copies for sale, just the original.

              Mike,

Are the catalogues still in Russian hands or did Kai get them? Reason I ask is Kai had several sets of 5 Kav. Rgt straps for sale that were said to have come from T and S. I was wondering if they were listed in the catalogue.WR Jim

Thanks Mike. I know that I would kill for a DVD copy of the thing! It would be a most valuable research tool.

                  Dear Mike,

Thank you very much for the information. I had heard some rumors about the T&S horde but this is the clearest and most detailed version of the T&S history that I have heard.

That's 50 seconds per letter, Jens...not considering the extra embroidery works...are you sure?

Here's my example. It's not my collecting field but a nice piece to have anyway as they are just so nice!
