All leather visor caps???

Has anyone seen this before? My German is bad but I think its somekind of gas troop. His whole getup is leather including the visor. Anybody have one in their collection?

I don't see any German to read, but that's the type of cap that was worn by drivers in the Kraftfahrtruppen in the imperial army. First model Wehrmacht insignia would date this 1934-35? The pilot-like goggles and nose/cheek guard would be appropriate cold weather gear for an open car. Hate to think the guy was zipping around on a motorcycle without a crash helmet!

I have a brown, all leather SS officers M43 cap that I picked up a while back from a very reputable dealer. The cap is unquestionably period, shows age but is in excellent condition. I haven't found one for sale or on display since. Is anyone familiar with this type of M43? Were these apparently custom taylored caps very rare? Thanks.
